In April 2016, Aspen Aerogels, Inc. filed a complaint in Germany alleging patent infringement against Nano Tech Co., Ltd. In May 2016, Aspen also filed a complaint with the US International Trade Commission alleging that Nano infringes certain of Aspen’s US patents. Nano believes in intellectual property and has obtained numerous patents on its technology. Nano also strongly respects the intellectual property rights of others. Nano is starting to vigorously defend itself against Aspen’s allegations in the German action and the ITC investigation.
